    AU GRATIN : BAKED VEGETABLES

    A delicious and healthy wholesome meal with medley of vegetables, drizzle with enticing cheese sauce, and baked to perfection. Baked Vegetables healthy bowl of veggies with rich creamy, loaded melted cheese layers wrapped around. Baked vegetables have all the nutrition-packed together with flavors. The assorted colorful veggies mixed in white sauce, topped with cheese, and baked till the cheese melts and form a luscious gooey layer over the vegetables. 

    The cheesy white sauce glaze the buttery vegetables instantly appeals to the taste buds and makes it irresistible. This baked vegetable is a french dish which is known as veg au gratin. It is a great side dish for the main course and works equally as a healthy brunch option or simple lunch or dinner. It has healthy vegetables of your own choice which is drowned into the white sauce with lots of cheese, it’s crusty top with a creamy center. 

    The dish has various vegetables such as broccoli, carrot, mixed bell peppers, peas, beans, sweet corn, and mushrooms. The vegetables are mixed in a white creamy sauce and then layered in a bowl and topped with cheese to bake. It is served with toasted bread. A cheesy gem is a delicious dish that would be loved by both kids and adults. As they give loads of nutrients as it consists of a variety of vegetables.

    Veg au gratin a french recipe covered with bread crumbs or grated cheese and browned. Gratin is a French word for a technique that involves topping a dish with either cheese or buttery breadcrumbs and baking or broiling until crispy. It has a golden-brown crust usually used with breadcrumbs or grated cheese. A gratin is baked or grilled to form a golden crust on top. It has a crusty top grilled with a creamy inside. 

    A baked vegetable is a healthy dish as it is loaded with vegetables in this you can add or less more vegetables of your choice. It is a healthy dish which you can enjoy with your kids also as it is a cheesy delight which is liked by kids and give the amplified amount of nutrients with various vegetables which good for their health and they can easily eat this cheesy baked vegetables.

    I served this with garlic bread which is grilled in butter. For garlic bread, you can heat the butter add a tablespoon of chopped garlic and coriander to the butter. Then apply it to the bread and grill the bread slices and enjoy it with the baked vegetables. It accomplishes best with baked vegetables. This vegetarian appetizer recipe is easy to make and can be prepared without putting in any effort. So please try this scrumptious recipe and impress your guest with your culinary skills. 

    Baked Vegetable Recipe

    Ingredients

    • French beans 1/2 cup
    • Carrot 1/2 cup
    • Broccoli 1/2 cup
    • Mixed bell pepper 1 cup
    • Mushrooms 1/2 cup
    • Peas 1/4 cup
    • Butter 1 tbsp
    • Salt as taste

    For White Sauce

    • All-purpose flour 2 tbsp
    • Butter 1 tbsp
    • Milk 2 cups
    • Black pepper 1/2 tsp
    • Oregano 1/2 tsp
    • Chili flakes 1/2 tsp
    • Salt as taste
    • Cheese 1/2 cup

    Method

    1. Heat the butter in a pan. 
    2. Now add all-purpose flour and stir fry it for a minute.
    3. Add milk to the pan and whisk it well to avoid lumps.
    4. Bring it to boil and add salt, black pepper, oregano, and chili flakes.
    5. Boil it for 4-5 minutes and whisk continuously.
    6. In a pan heat the butter.
    7. Now add the vegetables and stir fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes.
    8. Lastly, season it with salt.
    9. Now add the vegetables to the prepared white sauce and mix it well.
    10. Now take the rectangular deep box and grease it with butter.
    11. Transfer the vegetables to the bowl. 
    12. Sprinkle the cheese on the top.
    13. Place the bowl in a preheated oven at 400F/200C.
    14. Bake it for twenty-five minutes or until the vegetables are light golden brown.
