The staple food in India includes wheat, rice, and pulses with chana (Bengal Gram) being the most important one. In modern times Indian pallete has undergone a lot of change. It developed more taste in Indian cuisine with fusion in it.

There are a basic 20 to 30 spices that are used in many dishes—cumin, coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and cardamom, to name a few—and there is an infinite number of ways of using them. Every spice has a reason for being there. They have health benefits, and they make the food more exciting and flavorful.

Most Indian cuisine is vegetarian but the Indians also love non -vegetarian delicacies cooked. Indian cuisine is a blend of various spices that gives the taste and when it touches the taste buds the tongue is tingling with the exotic flavor. It has gravy which is enriched with spices and cream.

Indian CuisineAs far as food is concerned, India can very roughly be divided into four regions. Each region has several states in it and each state its own unique food. Here’s a brief look at the cuisines of North, South, East, and West. It has a large segment that one cant describes all the parts.

Indians take their food very seriously. Cooking is considered an art that cant be learned at any school. It has authentic recipes that are discovered years ago and cooked in the same manner today also. In India cooking is worship to them after making food they offer to god then they eat. While cooking people has their own belief and they follow them. Mealtime is an important occasion for the family to get together. Most meals comprise of several dishes ranging from staples like rice and bread to meat and vegetables and rounded off with a dessert.
