    Monsoon is one of the most loved weather by all as it brings different memory to each one of us like some are playing in the rain or some people enjoy the rain by sitting at the corner of the balcony and sipping a cup of tea or coffee and enjoying the rain. But the season brings a variety of finger-licking food. While monsoon has its own charm where the noise of thunder scares you but the drops of rain mesmerize you and makes you desire to eat some monsoon combination food like pakodas, samosas, jalebi, kachori, with a cup of hot ginger tea and relish the rain outside.

    But the time has been changed after the COVID-19 as people facing many different diseases and they preferred of taking healthy diet. But with a change in weather, it is mandatory to switch monsoon friendly diets so you can keep yourself healthy and stay fit. As, we all know that weather leads to different diseases like cold and cough, digestion problems or any other infections so we need to keep proper on our diet. A balanced diet is necessary which has seasonal fruits and vegetables which helps to keep our ecosystem healthy and keep the mind fresh.

    Monsoon is the period of infections which brings many diseases so it is very important for ourselves to take care of our body and stay healthy. Consuming certain foods items that are rich in nutrients and helps to strengthen the body immune system and protect ourselves. Here are the top 7 food items to consume to maintain better health during the monsoon.

    Probiotics: These include foods like yogurt, buttermilk, and Kefir—a tangy fermented drink rich in probiotics, calcium, and vitamins. Kefir promotes gut health, aids digestion, and tastes delightful, while also supporting a healthy immune system. It fosters the growth of beneficial gut bacteria, crucial for combating harmful disease-causing bacteria.

    Fruits: It is one of the very essential foods of our daily life and it is believed that we should eat one fruit daily depending on the season. We should eat season fruits which include peaches, plums, jamun, cherries, pomegranate which are packed with Vitamin A and C, Fiber, and Antioxidants.

    Proteins: It is very essential for day to day lifestyle which helps in increasing immunity and helps in recovery from illness. products like milk, milk products, pulses, lentils, eggs, seafood, nuts, chicken are good sources of protein. it also helps in building blocks of organs, muscles, skin, and hormones.

    Vegetables: It is an essential part of our day to day life as it consists of many healthy ingredients which are good for our health. Season vegetables have many benefits and give various nutrients which are needed by our body on daily basis. Vegetables for the monsoon season include cucumber, tomato, beans, brinjal, radish, etc.

    Fluids: Drinking plenty of water good for health which is important for health it has freshly prepared kadha, broths, and soups. It has a re hydrating quality and is good for the immune system.

    Omega 3 Fatty Acids: It is very essential that helps in the immune-modulator effect. Omega 3 Fatty Acid is present in food like fish, shrimps, oysters, nuts, oil seeds like walnut, pistachio, chia seeds, flax seeds, etc. In monsoon it has a high risk of infection through food and water which increases immunity would help to fight infections to an extent.

    Spices: In India, spices play an essential role like turmeric, ginger and many other spices in your diet as they have many properties like antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties and helped for good health in weather.
