    HEALTHY SPROUTS SALAD

    Summer is at its peak here, and all I am craving for is no-cook salads. Sprouts salads that come together in a jiffy and are non-greasy. It is refreshing and light and gives you a healthy wholesome meal that is packed with all kinds of goodness, tons of flavor, and great texture. Sprout salad is simple, super easy to make, full of nutrition, and loaded with veggies. It is a perfect healthy delight for a breakfast.

    It is made sprouted moong and gram with some herbs and veggies. It is made by just mixing the ingredients without any cooking process involved. The salad can be perfectly shared as a side to your lunch or dinner meal or can serve as it is. It is an easy recipe so it can make it simple or you can vary with your choices by adding some more ingredients to it.

    Why Sprouts Are Healthy?

    It enhances the nutritional value of grains, legumes, or beans. These contain certain anti-nutrients including phytic acid which locks up important minerals. It also inhibits our digestive enzymes. Sprouting increases the nutritive value of the ingredients and provides better digestion. They are low in calories and rich in fiber, enzymes, protein, and other micro-nutrients. 

    Benefits Of Sprouts 

    Helps In Digestion

    Sprouts contain an unusually high content of living enzymes. These enzymes further help in boosting your metabolic processes and improve chemical reactions within the body, specifically when it comes to digestion. It also has a dietary fiber which regulates digestion

    Helps In Weight Loss

    Sprouts are one of the best foods to help lose weight. They are high in nutrients but have negligible calories which mean that you can consume sprouts without worrying about the weighing scale. It contains a high amount of fiber that makes you feel full for a longer period. 

    Builds Your Immune System

    Sprouts have a high vitamin C content that makes it a powerful stimulant for the white blood cells in the body to fight off infections and diseases and thus, building your immunity system. It also has abundant vitamin A. Vitamin A has several antioxidant properties that make a great source of immune system strength.

    Helps In Healthy Growth Of Hair

    The presence of vitamin A in sprouts stimulates hair follicles and encourages the scalp to grow thicker and longer hair. Vitamin A deficiency may lead to thinning of hair, dry scalp, and excessive hair loss.

    Helps In Good Skin

    Sprouts contain antioxidants that are responsible for fighting cell-damaging free radicals in the body and further protect the skin from getting damaged. It contains silica, which is a nutrient that regenerates the skin’s connective tissues. It is also responsible for removing toxins from the body causing a lifeless and dull skin.

    Sprouts salad is easy to make you need to choose all the ingredients and chop the veggies and mix them well. In this recipe, I sprouted the beans but for your option, you can buy it from the market. But in this simple recipe you can do some variation according to your choices or to make it healthy.

    You can add boiled potato or sweet potato to add carbohydrates in your salad.

    If you want a sweet salad then add fruits and dry fruits of your choice. In fruits, you can add apple, pomegranate, or cucumber.

    You can also boost the nutritive value of this salad by adding roasted peanuts or seeds like chia, sunflower, sesame, and pumpkin.

    Sprouts Salad Recipe

    Ingredients 

    • Sprouted moong beans 1 cup
    • Sprouted black beans 1 cup
    • Tomato 1
    • Green chili 1
    • Onion 1
    • Chaat masala 1/2 tsp
    • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
    • Coriander leaves 1 tbsp
    • Black salt as taste

    Method

    1. In a mixing bowl take sprouted moong and black beans. 
    2. Add finely chopped onion, tomato, and green chili. 
    3. Then add chaat masala and lemon juice. 
    4. Lastly, season it with salt.
    5. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
