    THE RICHNESS OF VITAMIN C

    Recently Vitamin C is in keen research as it is helpful in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a common ingredient in our diet and provides several roles in your body. It provides many essential benefits to our body which is needed for every human body and mainly during this time. There is still no evidence to prove consuming a high amount of vitamin C is effective against coronavirus. But it is believed and all the medical facilities are using vitamin c and more than fifty percent of patients are been cured of the disease.

    It affects your immune health in several ways. Its antioxidant activity can decrease inflammation, which may help improve your immune function. It protects our bones, helps in building our tissues, and is an important factor in the absorption of iron. It also keeps your skin healthy by boosting collagen production, helping the skin serve as a functional barrier to keep harmful compounds from entering your body. Vitamin C in the skin can also promote wound healing.

    It is a water-soluble vitamin that’s found in many foods, particularly fruits and vegetables. The human body cannot produce or store vitamin C. Therefore, it’s essential to consume it regularly in sufficient amounts. Here we will discuss some fruits and vegetables which are enriched with vitamins and you can easily add to your daily diet.

    Food Enriched With Vitamin C

    Lemons

    Lemons are an important source of Vitamin C. They are also enriched with Vitamin B6, copper, potassium, magnesium, zinc, flavonoids, antioxidants, and phosphorus. Adding lemon to your diet will help keep digestion and tummy troubles like constipation at bay. It is known to cleanse the digestive system along with blood purifying properties.

    Kiwi

    Kiwi is no ordinary fruit, both in terms of the way it looks as well as its nutritional content. According to the nutritional break-up of kiwi fruit, per 100 grams contain 154 percentage of Vitamin C, which is almost twice that of lemons and oranges. Vitamin C acts as a powerful antioxidants, eliminating free radicals that could cause inflammation or cancer. It also helps in boosting the immunity of the body against harmful pathogens.

    Broccoli

    Broccoli is known to be a hearty and tasty vegetable that is rich in dozens of nutrients. It is said to pack the most nutritional punch of any vegetable. It is a nutritional powerhouse full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. It is rich cruciferous vegetables and lowered oxidative stress, improved immunity, and a decreased risk of cancer and heart disease.

    Orange

    Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C. One orange offers 116.2 percent of the daily value for vitamin C. Good intake of vitamin C is associated with a reduced risk of colon cancer as it helps to get off free radicals that cause damage to our DNA. It is also vital for the proper function of a healthy immune system, which is good for preventing colds and preventing recurrent ear infections.

    Guavas

    Guavas are one of the richest sources of vitamin C. Guava fruit contains 4 times the vitamin C content present in oranges. Vitamin C helps improve immunity and protects you against common infections and pathogens. Moreover, it keeps your eyes healthy. Guavas are also rich in manganese which helps the body to absorb other key nutrients from the food that we eat.

    Pineapple

    Pineapple is a tropical plant with an edible fruit with exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavor that balances the tastes of sweet and tart. It is enriched with vitamins, enzymes, and antioxidants. They may help boost the immune system, build strong bones, and aid indigestion. And, despite their sweetness, pineapples are low in calories.
